Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to fulfill the tasks assigned to the Ministry of Finance for the methodological support of the activities of the internal audit and financial control services of ministries and departments, stipulated in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-3231 "On further improvement of the financing of educational and medical institutions along with the system of state financial control" dated August 21,  2017, the Ministry of Finance and the Institute for Fiscal studies held a webinar on the topic “International theoretical and practical experience of internal control systems” for representatives of internal audit and financial control services.

This webinar was dedicated to the theoretical and practical experience of internal control, based on materials developed by the US Government Accountability Office (GAO), - The International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and the Committee of the Sponsoring Organization (COSO).

During the webinar, the participants were provided with information on the descriptions, components and principles of internal control formed by the mentioned international organizations. Also during the webinar, explanations on the application of internal control components based on the examples set out in the “Guidelines for the organization of internal control in the public sector”, approved by The International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) were given.

The webinar was attended by employees of the Ministry of Finance, the Institute for Fiscal Studies and the Training Center of the Ministry of Finance, together with employees of the internal audit and financial control departments of ministries and organizations.

After the presentation, the participants discussed the work on improving and developing the internal control system in ministries and departments, as well as the relationship between internal audit activities and the internal control system.

In the end, parts agreed to conduct such webinars on a regular basis.
