We must move on insists Demyanenko
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Nasaf Karshi boss Anatoly Demyanenko saw his side once again run riot in a 7-1 AFC Cup victory over Al Tilal and then told his players to forget all about their Group A exploits.

The Uzbeks had beaten Dempo 9-0 in their previous home game at Karshi Central Stadium and seemed on course to break that record after establishing a 6-1 half-time lead, with Nosir Otakuziev bagging a hat-trick.

Ivan Boskovic netted four goals against the Indians and the Montenegrin was again on the score sheet as he twice found the back of the net.

Artur Gevorkyan and Ilkhom Yunusov also scored one each while Al Tilal’s solitary reply came from Lami Itana as Nasaf romped home to record their sixth consecutive win.

Having racked up 30 goals in the process, the Uzbeks must be considered among the strong favourites to claim this year’s trophy.

But Demyanenko told his squad not to rest on their laurels with Jordanians Al Faisaly next to visit in the last 16 at the end of the month.

“I congratulate the fans of Nasaf with another beautiful victory. However, I want to say my players that they have to forget quickly not only today's match, but the entire group stage,” he said.

“Now it's all in the past and from now, every match will be decisive. If we want to win the AFC Cup, then we need to continue to play to win in every game.

“As I promised, today we once again played a strong team. There is no point in wasting time for experiments, because then you need to play for a long time to restore communication.

“A large number of goals scored do not speak about the weakness of our opponents. This is what we play, attacking football.”

Al Tilal boss Seyoum Kebede admitted his team were unable to recover from the shock of going two goals down inside the first three minutes.

“We were going to give a fight to the best team of the tournament but two quick goals ruined the game plan,” he said.

“At one point, I thought that we were going to suffer the same fate as Dempo but we managed to contain the onslaught of Nasaf. I do not even know who can prevent Nasaf from winning the AFC Cup.”
