Alisher Shaikhov, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan opened the event. He noted that such a seminar is very needed for the businesses in Uzbekistan as they have acquired knowledge and experience needed to participate in the competitive biddings under the projects, financed by international organisations.

Business opportunities within the projects financed by the World Bank, types of procurement, preparation and conducting of biddings, standard tender documents and procurement plans - these are only several from a many other procurement issues presented and discussed in the seminar.

The approach and methodology used in the seminar were to facilitate and engage companies in biddings through studying the cases and discussing them in details.
