Volume of paid services rises by 17.8% in Jan-Sep
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Volume of paid services, rendered to the population of Uzbekistan in January-September 2009, made up 4.306 trillion soums or grew by 17.8% in January-September 2008. Official sector rendered 67.6% or 2.911 trillion soums of paid services to population (up 24.2%) in the reporting period.

Volume of paid services, rendered to the population by individual businesses, grew by 6.4% to 1.395 trillion soums. Its share in total volume of paid services comprised 32.4%.

Share of non-state sector in total volume of paid services, rendered to the population, fell from 78.8% in January-September 2008 to 77.7% in the same period of 2009.

Personal services’ share in total volume of paid services made up 9.6% or 410.4 billion soums. The real growth rate made up 20.6% year-on-year. About 88% of personal services were services rendered by individual businesses. The volume of the sector made up 361.1 billion soums (up 18.1%).

Total volume of market services in all types of economic activity made up 19.179 trillion soums, including 4.763 trillion soums in rural areas or 25.8 of total volume. The growth rate made up 15.8% year-on-year.

High growth rates were achieved in tourism- excursion services (up 34.7%), communication and information services, including information-resource centers’ services (up 32.6%) repair of vehicles and other equipment (up 28.5%) and financial services, including microcredits (up 21.1%).

Transport services accounted 31.8% of total services, trade and catering - 17.3%, communal (13.3%), financial, including microcredits, - 7.5%, communication and information services, including information-resource centers’ services (7.5%).
