Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Social networks VKontakte, Twitter and WeChat process personal data of citizens of Uzbekistan in violation of Article 27-1 of the Law on Personal Data. This was stated by the inspectorate "Uzkomnazorat".

The inspectorate noted that this was carried out as a result of monitoring carried out by the commissioner in May 2021. The inspectorate received a corresponding conclusion.

In connection with processing personal data of the Uzbek citizens by VKontakte, Twitter and WeChat in violation of the requirements of the law, the Uzkomnazorat issued instructions to the companies Mail.ru Group, Twitter Inc. and Tencent Inc. on the adoption of measures to ensure compliance with the requirements of 271 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Personal Data".

In accordance with the requirements of the legislation, social networks and world Internet companies are required to process personal data of citizens of Uzbekistan on servers, using basic data registered in the State Register on the territory of the country.
