Visa first introduced the technology in 2019, launching test projects with a number of major banks in the CIS and Southeast Europe region. The first commercial project based on Visa Tap to Phone technology was presented in Kazakhstan in June 2020.

The new MARTA solution from MayaSoft is now available to all Visa partner banks in Uzbekistan to launch contactless acquiring projects with merchants. The solution will expand the infrastructure for accepting payments in Uzbekistan, making the ability to accept contactless payments more accessible for trade and service enterprises, which, in turn, will accelerate the introduction of digital payments and strengthen consumer confidence in them.
