VimpelCom’s net operating revenue in Uzbekistan makes up US$51.4m in 2Q
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Net operating revenue of VimpelCom Ltd. (VimpelCom) in Uzbekistan fell by 2.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2010 to US$51.4 million (US$52.65 million in 2Q 2010).

Revenue from mobile communication made up US$48.9 million (-1.2%) in the second quarter of 2010. Revenue from fixed communication in Uzbekistan decreased by 19.4% to US$2.5 million in the reporting period (US$3.1m in 2Q 2009).

Adjusted OIBDA made up US$20.1 million in the second quarter of 2010, which is 25.3% less compared to the same period of 2009. OIBDA of mobile communication comprised US$19.2 million in the second quarter (-25.3%). OIBDA of fixed communication in the second quarter of 2010 fell by 25% to US$0.9 million (US$1.2 million in 2Q 2009).

Adjusted OIBDA margin slipped from 51.1% in the second quarter of 2010 to 33.3% in the same period of 2010.

Subscribers’ base of the mobile communication grew by 10.9% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2010 to 3.997 million (3.605 million in 2Q 2009).

MOU (Monthly Average Minutes of Use per User) made up 383 minutes in the second quarter (+69.8%) against 225.6 minutes at the end of the second quarter of 2009.

ARPU (Monthly Average Revenue per User) decreased by 12.8% year-on-year to US$4.1 in March-June of 2010 (US$4.7 in 2Q 2009).

Number of subscribers to broadband Internet comprised 10,700 at the end of the second quarter of 2010, which is up by 40.8% year-on-year.

VimpelCom owns Unitel LLC and Buzton JV LLC in Uzbekistan. Unitel LLC renders mobile communication services under Beeline brand in Uzbekistan, while Buzton JV LLC offers fixed communication and Internet services.
