Unitel LLC, mobile operator in Uzbekistan, was the first company in local market to introduce service “Zagranichniy platej” (Foreign payment) in March 2009.

Andrei Iolkin, VimpelCom’s CIS Sales Director, said: “We are sure that expansion of system on accepting payments to neighbouring states will be another step on creating single Beeline space due to cooperation with largest mobile handset retailer.”

The service allows Unitel subscribers to pay for mobile communication service in Russia. Citizens of Russia can also put money to account of their relatives or friends, who are Unitel subscribers. The payments are received in Russian rubles.

Marat Serikov, Unitel commercial director on development of mass markets, said monthly receipts from this service increased three fold in last year, which means that it is highly demanded service.

Service “Zagranichniy platej” is available for only individuals, who are visiting or living in Russia. The service is available for users, using pre-paid tariff plans.
