Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Uzcharmsanoat Association, as part of a government delegation, is on a working trip to Vietnam. The goal is to establish new trade and economic ties with this country.

To date, fruitful negotiations have already taken place with the General Director of Thuong Dinh Footwear Joint Stock Company Nguyen Van Him.

The company was founded in 1957. Main activities: production of all types of vulcanized and canvas shoes. At present, the company has about 1000 employees with 6 modern production lines, computerized embroidery machines. The company produces 200,000 pairs of shoes per month, and is also a representative of an enterprise for the production of rubber and adhesives used in the shoe industry.

At the meeting, which began at the negotiating table, and then continued with an acquaintance with the production capacities of the enterprise, the parties considered Cooperation in several areas at once.

First, under the demand of the company, to arrange supplies of Uzbek leather. Thuong Dinh Footwear Joint Stock Company also plans to act as a distributor of Uzbek leather, presenting and distributing products among Vietnamese leather and footwear enterprises.

Before making such a decision, the company studied leather samples from various manufacturers in Uzbekistan, such as Hamkor Nur, Nafis Charm and Peng Sheng, analyzed costs and logistics issues. For the successful implementation of cooperation in this direction, the parties agreed to sign an appropriate agreement.

The second item on the agenda is the supply of rubber and latex glue to Uzbekistan, which are used in the shoe industry. Thuong Dinh Footwear Joint Stock Company is one of the largest suppliers of these products in the world, their goods are imported to Uzbekistan through China. At the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of establishing direct supplies of rubber and glue without intermediaries, which will further reduce the cost of footwear production.

The third direction for joint work is the sale of the company’s footwear products in the Uzbek market. The company produces sneakers with rubber soles made using the "hot pot vulcanization" technology. The shoes are “assembled” on the block completely, the sole is glued and additionally covered with a special rubber band on the sides. After that, a batch of sneakers is sent to a special oven, where it heats up to a temperature of about 100-110 degrees for 75-80 minutes.

In Uzbekistan, this production niche is not yet occupied, so the partners were offered not just the option of importing shoes, but cooperation, which involves the creation of joint production in our country.

  The head of the Vietnamese company was provided with detailed information about the industrial potential of Uzbekistan in the leather and footwear industry, the business climate and the conditions provided to investors. We are talking about tax and customs preferences, as well as the advantages of special small industrial zones created in 16 regions of Uzbekistan, specializing in the production of leather and footwear products.

The parties agreed to study and work out this project and other aspects of comprehensive cooperation in detail as part of a business visit of a Vietnamese company to Uzbekistan, timed to coincide with the International Exhibition UzCHarmExpo Shoesstar Eurasia 2023, which will be held from April 5 to April 7 with Uzexpocentre NEC.
