Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Professor Raymond Joseph Hoffman was appointed vice-rector for academic affairs of the Samarkand International university of tourism “Silk Road”.
Mr. R. Joseph Hoffman is a potential specialist with broad experience in the field of cultural tourism and heritage, as well as in the field of religion. Graduated from Harvard university in the USA, Oxford university in Great Britain and Heidelberg university in Germany. He holds Masterʼs degrees in MTS, doctoral and postgraduate degrees in history and archeology.
He has held leadership positions at leading universities in the world such as Cambridge in the UK and Cornell in the US.
He was editor-in-chief at the university of Oxford on research projects “Religions of the Silk Road. A History of Cultural Interchange from the Death of Alexander to the Islamic Renaissance” with the support of the Asian Society (UNESCO). Author of 9 and 7 edited monographs, as well as 273 scientific and encyclopedic articles and reviews.
