Veterans to be honoured on 9 May in Khiva
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In commemoration of 9 May, Memory and Honour Day in Uzbekistan, the Fund Forum and Khiva City Mayor’s Office are organizing a charitable pilaf event for veterans and their families as part of Asrlar Sadosi Festival of Traditional Culture. The charitable event will take place in Ichan-Qala, near the east gate of Ota-darvoza.

Around 800 people have been invited to the charitable pilaf event. Among them are Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) veterans, whose courage and valour are honoured to this day.

Notably, the Fund Forum in conjunction with its partners – Mehr nuri (Ray of mercy) Foundation and the Women’s Council Public Association – annually organize charitable campaigns to honour veterans, such as charitable pilaf events and visits to veterans’ homes to give them presents.

On 2-5 May this year Mehr nuri (Ray of mercy) Foundation and the Women's Council Public Association honoured 220 war veterans in Tashkent by providing them with special presents. The upcoming pilaf event in Khiva will be a continuation of the traditional charitable events. Thus, the public organizations continue to pay particular attention to charity and social support of the population both in the capital Tashkent and regions of the Republic.
