Verification of electricity, gas, and water meters in Uzbekistan to become proactive

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 18 December, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution aimed at improving the delivery of public services.

Under this resolution, five public services will transition to a proactive format, meaning they will be initiated by state authorities without requiring citizens or organizations to apply. The following services will become proactive:

Verification of electricity meters.

Verification of natural gas meters.

Verification of potable water meters.

Verification of hot water meters.

Inclusion of private employment agencies in the Register of Private Employment Agencies.

According to the Agency for Public Services, authorized bodies will remove, verify, and reinstall meters three months before their verification deadline. This eliminates the need for citizens to manage the verification process for water, gas, and electricity meters, as it will be conducted automatically by relevant authorities.

Additionally, six services will be combined into composite services, enabling the provision of two or more related services through a single application from citizens or legal entities. These include:

Registration of property rights and permanent residence registration at the same address.

Registration of rental or free-use agreements for real estate and temporary registration at the same address.

Leasing of state buildings or facilities for at least one year and registration of property rights.

Sale of real estate on the E-auksion platform and state registration of property rights.

Medical activity licenses and permits for the use of X-ray equipment.

Issuance of suitability certificates for containers used to transport hazardous materials and compliance certificates for transporting nuclear and radioactive materials under sanitary norms.

Moreover, the resolution introduces service passports for several licensing and notification-based public services. These include permits for importing and producing biologically active substances, certificates for exporting cultural property from Uzbekistan, and passports for customs broker activities and non-governmental archive organizations.

Unnecessary requirements for operating non-governmental archives have also been eliminated.
