The press service of the ministry said that Apostolic Nuncio handed over credentials, which were addressed to the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

Ivan Jurkovič shared his impressions with the visits, conducted within his visit to Tashkent and said he read congratulation of the President Islam Karimov to participants of the solemn meeting, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of foundation of Repiblican International Cultural Center with interest. It is important that cultural-national diversity in Uzbekistan is considered as integral part of life and serves as factor for stability and play important role in development of society through deepening democratic reforms.

Currently, over 2,000 religious organizations of 16 confessions are operating in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, it was underlined that the sides pay important attention to dynamic development of bilateral relations both within intergovernmental cooperation and inter-religious dialogue.

At the meeting, the sides also considered other perspective directions of interaction.
