UzTMC plans to increase production of molybdenum and tungsten products

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan Technological Metals Combine (UzTMC) is implementing 34 projects aimed at the exploration, extraction, and processing of rare metals in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the deputy director of the enterprise, Ulugbek Ruziev.

Out of the 34 projects, 17 are focused on identifying and assessing new deposits of rare metals such as lithium, tungsten, tantalum, niobium, graphite, and other rare earth elements.

Eight projects are dedicated to developing special technologies for processing these metals, six projects are focused on summarizing geological mapping as well as biochemical and geophysical data, and three projects are aimed at utilizing additional metals and rare elements.

Furthermore, Ulugbek Ruziev highlighted that by 2030, the combine plans to significantly increase production, specifically targeting molybdenum products, which are expected to grow by 3.4 times, and tungsten products, which are projected to increase 50-fold in value terms.

UzTMC was established in July of this year on the basis of the scientific and production association "Rare Metals and Hard Alloys," which is part of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine.
