Uztex Group receives a certificate to entering the US market

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Over 10 textile companies from Uzbekistan became the owners of the Certificate of the International Standard WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production).

According to the Uztestilprom Association, Uztex Group became the first enterprise in Uzbekistan, as well as in Central Asia to receive this standard. The company took place an official certificate presentation ceremony.

The WRAP certificate is one of the most difficult social standards confirming that the production of Uztex Group complies with all the social norms and rules required for the export of products in the United States. This step reflects high standards of quality and ethics, on which the Uzbek textile industry is oriented.

The document was awarded the senior director for compliance with the requirements of WRAP Hong May.

It should be noted that at the moment, at the stage of receiving the Certificate of WRAP, 10 more enterprises.

According to the Statistics Agency, in 11 months of 2023, the volume of textile exports amounted to more than US$2.8 billion. At the moment, the export of yarn has recorded an increase of 8%, which corresponds to an increase in volume by 30,600 tons compared to 2022. A significant increase was recorded in the fabric category, where growth was 85%, which led to an increase in exports by 238 million square meters. Finished products are more than 22%.

With the beginning of the activities of organizations such as Better Work, Better Cotton, Uzbek textiles entered the supply chain of more than 27 world brands. The extension of the GSP+ preferences made it possible to increase the volume of exports, in particular to Germany, Italy, Poland.

Another jerk in the export of textiles was e -commerce. Digitalization of the industry and the popularization of marketplaces allows to increase export to an additional US$1 billion in 2024. Already today, through the Wildberries platform, Uzbekistan was able to increase the volume of exports by additional US$336 million.
