UzTest Confirms Theft of Equipment at Bukhara Branch
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbek Scientific Center for Testing and Quality Control (UzTest) has issued an official statement in response to reports circulating on social media and in the press regarding an incident at its Bukhara branch.
According to the Center, an internal investigation conducted by the Compliance Control Department of the Agency for Technical Regulation revealed the theft of testing and measuring equipment. Specifically, a brake testing stand worth 150 million soums and devices used to inspect gas cylinders valued at 250 million soums were stolen from the branch.
The case materials were handed over to law enforcement authorities in Bukhara Region in November 2024. A preliminary investigation is currently underway. UzTest stated that additional information will be provided upon completion of the procedural review.
At the same time, UzTest denied rumors alleging the misuse of 6 billion soums within the main center. The statement emphasized that such claims are unfounded and not supported by facts. The institution's financial activities, it noted, are under constant oversight by the Compliance Control Department.
The UzTest press service also reminded the public that spreading false information is punishable under Uzbek law and urged social media administrators to refrain from publishing inaccurate content. The Center further called on law enforcement agencies to take appropriate measures within the scope of their authority.
