The company ensured the growth of production of construction glass by 11.8%, tileboard – 71%, wall materials by 24.4%, etc. The growth of consumer goods output made up 22.4%. The sector exported products for US$21.4 million.

Uzstroymaterially pays a great attention to realization of wide-scale investment projects. It is planned to commission cement mill house of Quvasaycement in Yangiyul to process clinker of Bekabadcement with the capacity of 1 million tonnes of cement a year.

Investment programme of Uzbekistan for 2010 includes realization of new project on production of clay tile in Ahangaran district of Tashkent region with the capacity of 4.5 million square meters a year. The project is implemented with Iran’s EMG and the enterprise will be equipped with Italian equipment of Sakmi production. The capacity will be commissioned in October 2011.

The company is carrying out work on implementation of the programme on creation of new capacities on production of burnt bricks for 2009-2011. Last year, 68 investment projects with total capacity of 333.1 million bricks were realized at the forecast of 282.4 million bricks.

The company developed programme on developing production of burnt bricks for 2010 in the regions of Uzbekistan, which includes 42 enterprises on brick production with total capacity of 156.6 million units a years, while the forecast was 95.9 million bricks a year.

Six enterprises will be founded in Tashkent region and Surkhandarya region, four plant in Karakalpakstan Republic, Namangan, Navoi and Samarkand regions each. Bukhara region will have three brick production plants. Andijan, Jizzakh, Syrdarya and Ferghana regions will create two enterprises each, while one enterprises will be constructed in Khorezm region.

The company added that energy saving technologies are actively introduced in existing and new enterprises. As of 1 April 2010, 354 enterprises on brick production, using gas and coal, installed special equipment. This year, it is planned to modernize and reconstruct 116 enterprises, including 81 capacities working with gas and 28 enterprises working with coal.

Uzstroymaterially said it is planned that the enterprises of the sector will produce goods for 453 billion soums in the first half of 2010 at the growth rate of 5% year-on-year.
