Moderna Keramic Industries in Ferghana implements project on production of ceramic tiles with the capacity of 1 million square meters a year.

Total cost of the project is US$3.65 million, of which US$2 million are foreign investments and US$0.5 million – loans of the Uzbek commercial banks.

The project will allow to create 100 new jobs and produce import-replacing, competitive and quality ceramic tiles.

An Uzbek-US joint venture PentUz is implementing a project “Organization of production of soft roofing materials. The capacity of the plant will be 5 million square meters a year. The production process is based on European technologies and produce goods in line with European standards.

The programme includes construction of new cement plant with the capacity of 1 million tonnes a year in Karakalpakstan. An Uzbek-US joint venture Rahnamo-Nur implements the project. The project implementation has been started in 2009 and it will be completed in 2013. The project cost is estimated at US$128 million, of which US$79 million – foreign investments.

Uzstroymateriali adopts concrete measures on launching production of new construction materials.

In particular, Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combine in cooperation Uzstroymateriali are working on a project on organization of production of flat glasses in Navoi region. The annual capacity of the production will be 12 million square meters.

The company holds talks with South Korean companies on implementation of project “Organization of production of sanitary-technical ceramic products.

The negotiations are underway with Tashkent-based Italceramica on realization of the project “Creation of joint enterprise on production of 1.8 million square meters of stoneware a year”. The forecasted project cost is US$12.5 million.
