Markets 15/11/2008 UzSE trade turnover falls on 13 November

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Total trade turnover at the Uzbekistan Stock Exchange “Tashkent” (UzSE) made US$14,800 on 13 November. There were no deals at primary and secondary markets for foreign currency - these are results of trading session. The largest trade turnover was on stocks of Jizzakh don mahsulotlari (Jizzakh grain-crop products).

This was the result of investor purchasing of 9.87% of the issuer for US$12,700. Investors acquired preferred and common stocks of Jizzakh don mahsulotlari, namely 98,622 common stocks (9.86% of authorized capital) and 112 preferred stocks (0.01% of authorized capital). This company was also most active according to the results of the day.

Trading session on stocks of Vzryvprom (Industrial explosion) is continued. During the day investors acquired more than 5% of authorized capital of the issuer. The deal price was US$18.45 per share, this means zero price change compared to the last trading session on these stocks. Remaining securities fell by a fourth during the day. In particular, common stocks of Jizzakh don mahsulotlari fell by 25.32% and its preferred stocks fell by 23.84%. Also common stocks of Kashkadaryo parmalash ishlari lost 24.87%.

Though trade turnover reduced compared to the previous day, activity of investors didn’t fall. While during the day stocks of only three issuers were traded, investors purchased major stock holdings in two of them. During the last few weeks there was a tendency towards purchasing of significant shares (more than 1% of authorized capital) of companies. Mainly issuers, which represent production sector, were traded.

Total turnover on stocks of Jizzakh don mahsulotlari made US$12,700. This company was the only representative of food production sector, stocks of which were traded today. As a result the share of this sector reached 85.64% of total trade turnover.
