UzSE: Investors acquire significant holdings
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Activity of investors was at average level at the Uzbekistan Stock Exchange “Tashkent” on 14 November. During the day investors purchased significant holdings in every third issuer. Their activity was also confirmed by sudden quotes growth on securities.

The largest turnover fell on Mahsusenergogaz (Special power gas). Total turnover on stocks of this issuer made US$88,800. Investors purchased 5,670 stocks, or about 14.99% of authorized capital. All the stocks were acquired at secondary market for foreign currency.

The deal price was US$17.61 per stock, which is 17 times higher than the last trading session on these stocks. The day’s price is the historical maximum of the Mahsusenergogaz shares.

Quotes leap on stocks of Mahsusenergogaz (major stockholders are JSC O’zneftgazqazibchiqarish (26%) and OJSC Agroprombiznes (28.96%) led to capitalization growth of the issuer up to US$666,000. The authorized capital of the issuer for the moment is about US$40,000.

Among representatives of banking sector preferred stocks of Ipoteka Bank (10.22% is owned by insurance company Toshkent Sugurta (Tashkent Insurance) were traded on the reporting day. During the day preferred stocks of this bank fell in price by 5.90%. The other issuer whose quotes fell was Temir yul transport boshkarmasi. Its stocks lost quarter of their value during the day. By the end of the day the price of common stocks of this enterprise was US$3.26.

During the day one half of issuers whose stocks were traded at UzSE had a significant price leap. In particular, common stocks of Mahsusenergogaz rose in price by 1547%, Buhoro gazsanoatkurilish (Bukhara gas industry construction) rose by 292% and Janub sanoat montaj (South industry istallation) rose by 149%. Such high price growth on securities of these issuers led to capitalization growth of the market by almost US$11.3 million.

Stocks of 6 issuers were traded at UzSE during the day. All the issuers were representatives of different sectors of economy. Major share of the market was divided between two sectors of economy: construction (38.39% of total trade turnover) and machinery construction (60.24%).
