Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 December 2022, a meeting was held at Uzbekistan Stock Exchange (UZSE) with a delegation of the Korean Stock Exchange (KRX) headed by Chairman and CEO Sohn Byungdoo.
The meeting was attended by heads and responsible specialists of the Ministry of Finance, the UZSE, the Central Securities Depository and the Information Resource Center of the Stock Market.
The purpose of the visit of the Korean delegation is to get acquainted and exchange views on the development of the capital market and the stock exchange of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Finance Odilbek Isakov spoke about the achievements and plans for the development of the domestic capital market, about plans for the privatization of state-owned companies and banks by public offering of their shares on UzSE, about current projects to improve the regulatory framework and improve capital market infrastructure.
During the discussion, the Chairman of the Board of the UZSE Georgy Paresishvili and an expert on international infrastructure Adriana Tanasoyu raised issues related to improving the work of the Unified Software and Hardware Complex (EPTC) and discussed the proposal received from KRX for further maintenance and improvement of the EPTC. The parties agreed to closely cooperate in this direction.
From the side of the Director of the Department for the Development of the Capital Market of the Ministry of Finance Farrukh Khamdamov and the Director of the Information Resource Center of the Stock Market Muhammaddiyor Matchonov raised questions on regulatory aspects and building the potential of the capital market. KRX promised to share its experience in developing the stock market with its Uzbek counterparts and the government of Uzbekistan.
