Uzpromstroybank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation sign agreement for US$100 million

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - An agreement on cooperation for US$100 million was signed between Uzpromstroybank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation on 16 December 2019 in Tokyo (Japan) during the business forum of business circles of Uzbekistan and Japan timed state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan.

This agreement envisages the development of interbank cooperation in such areas as trade finance, supply chain financing, treasury operations, as well as financing projects involving the use of energy-efficient technologies.

The financing line of the Japanese bank will allow Uzpromstroybank to expand the resource base for financing projects involving the import of technological equipment and services from Japan and other countries. The predominant side of this cooperation is the provision by the Japanese bank of resources for pre-shipment financing of the export of goods and services of Uzpromstroybank customers.

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, and its group of companies provide a wide range of financial services both in Japan and abroad. The scope of this banking corporation covers corporate and retail banking services, services in the international capital markets, venture capital and securities.

Headquartered in Chiod, Tokyo, it also has 72 branches in 38 countries. The corporation has about 70,000 employees.

At the end of fiscal year 2018, the bank announced that its total assets made up US$1835 billion, and its total income reached US$7140 million.
