Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz ) -- On 27 August, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, together with the ProRun running school and Sanfa, organized the UZPLOGGING ecological race.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Ecology Jusipbek Kazbekov, representatives of partner organizations, media and participants.
"Since the establishment of the Ministry of Ecology, much attention has been paid to the organization of diving," Jusipbek Kazbekov said at the opening of the event. "Because plogging is aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and the formation of an ecological culture among the population, explaining that garbage should be thrown out only in designated places, as well as the fact that our main duty is to keep nature clean," J.Kazbekov.
The event began with a meeting of the participants of the diving near the reception point in the Ecopark. Despite the rainy day, the participants ran more than 3 kilometers, collecting plastic garbage along the way.
Each participant received a special medal made of recycled plastic and a T-shirt. The participants who collected the largest amount of garbage by weight became the winners.
It is worth noting that during the day the participants collected about 150 kilograms of plastic garbage. According to the results of the plogging, the 1st place was taken by Sukhrob Ruzaliyev (14.2 kg), the 2nd place - Ruzimboy Yuldoshboev (14.2 kg), the 3rd place - Mirazim Makhmudov (9.34 kg).
The winners received cash certificates from the plogging partner — Sanoat-Kurilish Bank:
1st place – 1,000,000 soums;
2nd place – 1,000,000 soums;
3rd place – 1,000,000 soums.
Dinara Okhunova also distinguished herself as part of the plogging, collecting the most plastic in 1 hour (6.66 kg). She was awarded a cash prize of 500,000 soums.
For information, the Ministry of Ecology constantly conducts mass garbage collection (plogging). In particular, during the previous plogging, the participants collected more than 300 kilograms of plastic garbage during the day.
Sanfa will produce a geomembrane from the collected plastic for watering wild animals of Karakalpakstan
