Uznefteproduct to invest US$12m to modernization of carboxymethylcellulose
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Uznefteproduct JSC, which unites enterprises on production of oil products, will invest US$12 million in 2010-2012 to modernization of carboxymethylcellulose production at Karbonam LLC.
The project was included into list of investment programme for 2009-2012, which is realized in Namangan region of Uzbekistan.
In the result of the project, Karbonam LLC will increase production of carboxymethylcellulose from 250 tonnes in 2009 to 5,000 tonnes in 2012. It will also start production of cleaned carboxymethylcellulose, capacity of which will be 300 tonnes a year.
Karbonam LLC will use cotton lint, received after processing of raw cotton, to expand production of carboxymethylcellulose.
Uznefteproduct, which is part of Uzbekneftegaz national holding company, will finance the project due to own resources.
Karbonam LLC, former Namangan Chemical Plant, was founded in 1942. Currently, it is only carboxymethylcellulose producer in Central Asia. The enterprise can produce 13,000 tonnes technical and 2,600 tonnes of clean carboxymethylcellulose.
