Uzmobile postpones launch of its GSM network
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- National mobile communication operator Uzmobile postponed launch of its GSM network for five days, the press service of the company said.

The statement of the operator said that the launch of GSM network in Tashkent city and Tashkent region was postponed to 15 April 2015 as the operator should carry out additional technical and assembly works.

The operator said that subscribers will be able to subscribe to Uzmobile at all sales offices of Uztelecom across Uzbekistan after 14:00 of 15 April.

President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On measures on organization of the activities of national operator of mobile communication” on 12 February 2014.

Branch of Uzbektelecom, Uzmobile, received status of national operator of mobile communication of Uzbekistan, which should develop mobile communication services and GSM network across Uzbekistan, as well as ensure information security.

In line with the resolution, Uzmobile will develop GSM network across Uzbekistan. The operator plans to expand GSM network across Uzbekistan in 2016-2017 with introduction of 2G/3G and 4G technologies.

At the same time, UzMobile will continue to use and further develop CDMA-450 EV-DO network. This year, the company plans to expand CDMA network.

Uzmobile will offer comfortable tariff plans and quality services with using advantages of both CDMA and GSM/LTE standards.

According to data of operator, currently CDMA network covers 85% of settlements. Number of subscribers is about 500,000 users. The estimated market share of Uzmobile is 2.3%.
