INFOCOM.uz journal reported that the membership will allow subscribers of UZMOBILE GSM soon use automatic international roaming services with members of the Association in any part of the world.

GSM Association is an international organization of GSM mobile operators, which unites 800 operators from 220 countries. The member-operators of the Association provide mobile communication services to 82% of all users in the world.

President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On measures on organization of the activities of national operator of mobile communication” on 12 February 2014.

Branch of Uzbektelecom, Uzmobile, received status of national operator of mobile communication of Uzbekistan, which should develop mobile communication services and GSM network across Uzbekistan, as well as ensure information security.

In line with the resolution, Uzmobile will develop GSM network across Uzbekistan. The operator plans to expand GSM network across Uzbekistan in 2016-2017 with introduction of 2G/3G and 4G technologies.

At the same time, UzMobile will continue to use and further develop CDMA-450 EV-DO network. This year, the company plans to continue to expand CDMA network.
