Members of faction of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) at Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan shared their opinion on the event.

Ravil Sabirjanov, member of UzLiDeP faction at the Legislative Chamber, spoke about speech of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the session of the Council of the heads of the states of the SCO at the expanded session.

He said that Uzbek leader said serious consequences of international financial-economic crisis had not yet been overcome. He said that this is fair statement and UzLiDeP believes that priority task is to attract high technologies and innovations to further modernization and diversification of economy and industries of Uzbekistan.

He said that it is important to implement proposal of the Uzbek President that the SCO member states should further deepen cooperation on realization of wide-scale project in sphere of economy, investment and transport communication, which would meet interests of the region.

MP said that realization of initiative of Silk Road Economic Belt, designed to promote long-term economic interests of all the countries in the Central Asian region is perspective direction.

Surayyo Adilkhodjaeva, member of UzLiDeP faction at the Legislative Chamber, said Islam Karimov in his speech considered situation in Afghanistan. She said that Uzbekistan is interested in solving this conflict and achieving peaceful and calm life in Afghanistan.

She recalled that millions of refugees from Afghanistan are living abroad due to war in the country and thousands people are missing, while huge resources and efforts were spent. She said that Afghanistan is fed up from this and they want peace and stability, as well as right to select their fate themselves.

MP noted that all interested sides are saying that it is impossible to achieve peace in Afghanistan with military force. She said that peace in neighboring state will ensure peace and development of Uzbekistan.

She expressed concern with situation in Afghanistan after presidential election, which threatens to internal political situation. She said that it is necessary to avoid developments like in Iraq. She said that UzLiDeP believes that all countries in the region are interested in preventing growth of threat and instability, expansion of terrorism and extremism activities, as well as drug trafficking.

She recalled words of Islam Karimov and said that Uzbekistan builds and will construct stable and friendly relations with Afghanistan based on national interests of two states and only on bilateral bases. She added that Uzbekistan will support that government, which was elected by Afghans.
