UzLiDeP faction discusses tax and budget policy for 2016
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Faction of UzLiDeP at the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a meeting on 2 November to discuss main directions of tax and budget policy, state budget and budgets of state targeted funds for 2016.

MPs of UzLiDeP, experts of the sphere, representatives of the ministries and departments participated in the discussion of the budget message, which was developed in line with priority directions of social-economic development, outlined by the President Islam Karimov.

It was underlined that the state budget was executed with the surplus. The tax burden to economy was decreasing in context of execution of income part of the budget and preserving social direction of expanses of the budget. The participants noted that the budget message for 2016 was developed based on Budget Code of Uzbekistan, which is in force for two years.

It was noted that main macroeconomic figures for 2016 envisages growth of GDP by 7.8%, industrial output – 8.2%, agriculture production – 6.1%, capital investments – 9.6%. It is planned to decrease single tax payment from 25% to 15% for microfirms, small enterprises and farms, and from 6% to 5% for small enterprises in sphere of services will allow them to keep 58.4 billion soums. This will create additional source for turnover funds, modernize and update production capacities, as well as stimulate workers.

The participants noted that tax policy for 2016 is directed at decreasing tax burden for small businesses and population, simplify taxation system, strengthen income part of local budgets and strengthen tax administration. It will also improve investment climate in the country.

The budget also pays great attention to development of agriculture industry and industry in rural areas. It was said that 422 billion soums will be directed to improve soil conditions in 2016, which will help to improve 282,000 hectares of land.

UzLiDeP members noted that the state budget for 2016 should also envisage measures on attracting youth to business activities.

The corresponding decisions were adopted after the discussion of the budget message for 2016.
