Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The State Inspectorate for Control in the Sphere of Informatization and Telecommunications (Uzkomnazorat) restricted the operation of several social networks in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the Inspectorate.

According to the Inspectorate, social networks violated the requirement of Article 271 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Personal Data" when processing personal data of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

"The relevant social networks have been included in the Register of violators of the rights of subjects of personal data since 2 July 2021, and the use of relevant resources on the Internet on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan is limited in accordance with the established procedure until the identified shortcomings are eliminated," the Inspectorate notes.

At the same time, "Uzkomnazorat" does not report which social networks were included in the register of violators.

Earlier, the inspectorate issued instructions to TikTok, Twitter and VKontakte on violation of the legislation of Uzbekistan. Now these social networks are working slowly.
