“Uzkimyosanoat” and Tatarstan Discuss Scientific and Technological Cooperation in the Chemical Industry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of a visit by the delegation of JSC “Uzkimyosanoat” to the Republic of Tatarstan, negotiations were held aimed at developing scientific and technological cooperation.
The delegation included First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the company, Evgeny Korzhikov, and Head of the Department for Localization, Expansion of Cooperative Ties and Import Optimization, Abduhamid Salomov.
One of the key items on the agenda was a visit to Kazan Federal University (KFU) and the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meetings primarily focused on opportunities for cooperation in areas such as composite materials, petrochemistry, pharmaceuticals, and small-scale chemical production geared toward import substitution.
At the A.M. Butlerov Institute of Chemistry, the delegation became acquainted with research in the fields of heterogeneous catalysis and the development of polymer composites. This was followed by a meeting with the university leadership, during which Dmitry Pashin, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation and Innovation, emphasized that KFU, with its more than 200-year scientific legacy, actively implements cutting-edge technologies aimed at meeting industrial needs. He underscored the relevance of international scientific collaboration, including with industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan, and proposed specific partnership formats.
Mikhail Varfolomeev, Director of the “Small-Tonnage Chemical Technologies” Technopark, presented applied developments, including projects for the production of reagents and catalysts, some of which are already in use at Russian enterprises. Discussions also focused on the transfer of technologies to Uzbekistan and the possible establishment of joint laboratories.
During the visit, “Uzkimyosanoat” representatives also visited the Scientific and Educational Pharmaceutical Center at KFU and held talks with Ilnur Khayrullin, Vice-Rector for Continuing Education and Professional Development, regarding joint educational programs and workforce training.
A particularly significant meeting was held with the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rifkat Minnikhanov. The two sides discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation in the chemical industry, localizing production, developing import-substituting products, and strengthening business and scientific ties between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan.
The visit marked an important step in deepening the partnership and opened new prospects for joint research, technological exchange, and the implementation of new industrial initiatives.
