Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27-28 October 2022, meetings were organized between officials of the Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX) and foreign partners in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
The meetings were held with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the UAE and the Representative Office of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the UAE.
On the first day, representatives of the exchange held talks with the leaders and specialists of the Dubai Diversified Commodity Center (DMCC) and the Dubai Gold and Commodity Exchange (DGCX).
During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the current trends in exchange trading and the development of new trading mechanisms being introduced.
In particular, the representatives of the UZEX held presentations on electronic trading systems implemented in commodity markets, their infrastructure and long-term plans.
In turn, specialists from the Dubai Gold and Commodity Exchange provided detailed information on commodity derivatives organized on the exchange, including the specifics, benefits, legal framework and tax administration of the gold market.
Also, during the negotiations, recognized as the most prestigious free economic zone in the world, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre expressed its readiness to assist the development of inter-exchange cooperation and increase the volume of foreign trade between the two countries.
On the second day of the visit, at a business breakfast organized by the international investment company Freedom Finance, a presentation of the UZEX was held for UAE entrepreneurs.
At the event with reputable entrepreneurs, the prospects for cooperation in the areas of foreign trade and fintech - financial technologies were considered.
The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) was established in 2002 as a free economic zone for strategic business development in Dubai. Currently, more than 21,000 companies are registered in the center, including brokers, banks, commodity exchanges and consulting agencies.
