Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A chairman of Uzeltehsanoat Association Agzam Izbosarov met the mission of the World Bank on energy sector led by Frantz Gerner.

Gerner said the mission is visiting Uzbekistan to render financial assist due to loans of the World Bank to improve energy efficiency in production process at the enterprises, decrease green gas emission due to introduction of energy efficient technologies, strengthen access to producers to hard currency loans to technological modernization and introduction of effective and less power-consuming technologies.

The Uzbek side handed over presentation materials on the activity of the association and member enterprises. The Uzbek side presented several projects to the World Bank’s consideration, directed to modernize production capacities at enterprises with use of energy-saving equipment.

At the result of the talks, the sides agreed to exchange information on perspective projects in this direction.

Uzeltehsanoat Association was created in 1994 by reorganization of the Uzbek state Concern of the radio-electronic, electrotechnical industry and instrumentation plants Radioelectrontehpribor in line with the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan from 21 January 1994 “About measures for further deepening of economic reforms, maintaining protection of a private property and business development”, the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 144 dated 17 March 1994, and the decision of founders.

Main objectives and activity of the Association are carrying out of a common state technical policy in electrotechnical sphere; defining perspective strategy of a sustainable development of the radio-electronic, electrotechnical industry and instrumentation plants branch, taking into account the advanced international experience and economic sphere, etc.
