Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzelektroapparat-Elektroshit JSC won an international tender for the construction of the Ring digital substation in Kuyichirchik district of Tashkent region.

The resolution of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to further improve the stability of power supply in the city of Tashkent and Tashkent region” stipulates the implementation of the investment project “Construction of a new substation “Koltsevaya” (Ring) with a voltage of 500 kV and overhead power lines with a voltage of 220 kV and 500 kV.”

The project involves the construction of a digital substation "Koltsevaya" with a voltage of 500 kV and overhead power lines with a voltage of 220 kV and 500 kV. The project is financed by the World Bank.

The Uzelektroapparat-Elektroshit won an international tender for the construction of a digital substation. A contract has also been signed with the winning bidder.

The new substation is expected to improve the operation of power grids in Tashkent and increase the stability of power supply for its residents.

According to the Ministry of Energy, the facility’s capacity will be 1,602 MVA. The launch of the substation will reduce the load on the main substation in Keles. The substation is expected to be commissioned at the end of 2024.

To ensure the connection of the future substation with the Syrdarya Thermal Power Plant and other power grid facilities, it is planned to build 285 km of high-voltage power lines. These lines will pass through the Kuyichirchik, Zangiata, Yangiyul, Akkurgan, Pskent districts of Tashkent region, as well as Syrdarya district of the corresponding region. Of the total length, 213 km are planned to be implemented as lines with a voltage of 220 kV, and the remaining 72 km will operate at a voltage of 500 kV.
