The enterprise will organize all works related on rendering digital broadcasting to subscribers, including such issues as content, tariff policy and receiving corresponding permissions and licenses.

TelMAX Electroniks started to assemble and supply of digital tuners to internal market, the agency said.

Uzbekistan started to introduce terrestrial digital TV broadcasting in 2008 with creation of two pilot zones in Tashkent and Bukhara. Japan’s NEC and Germany’s Rohde & Schwarz supplied equipment to these zones.

The digital broadcasting allows to transfer video images with higher accuracy and render multi-programme television and other services.

The UzACI said the Center of radio communication, radio broadcasting and television continue to expand digital broadcasting in DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting – Terrestrial) standard in Uzbekistan.

In the first half of 2010, three digital television transmitters will be installed in Tashkent with organization of over 40 TV channels and one television transmitter will be installed in Samarkand.
