Uzbekyengilsanoat implements six projects in 1Q
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State joint stock company Uzbekyengilsanoat (Uzbek Light Industry) completes implementation of six projects with total sum of US$18 million in the first quarter of 2012.

The projects were directed at organizing of new and expanding existing capacities due to launch of new lines in Tashkent, Syrdarya, Samarkand, Bukhara and Andijan regions, as well as Karakalpakstan.

The volume of these capacities can produce 7,000 tonnes of cotton yarn, 2,700 tonnes of stockinet, 0.6 million units of ready garments and 7.5 million square meters of cotton fabrics, UzA reported.

One of the largest projects, implemented in the first three months of 2012, was project on expanding spinning capacities at Osborn Textile. The project cost is US$7 million and it will allow to produce 2,100 tonnes of cotton yarn and increase export potential to US$3 million.

Osborn Textile was founded in Tashkent region of Uzbekistan in 2008. The enterprise processes cotton fiber and produces ready garments.

Ravshan Normatov, director of Osborn Textile, said that the project helped to launch the second spinning line at the plant, which will allow to produce cotton mélange yarn, and others.
