A delegation of the large Japanese tourism agencies visited Uzbekistan last week. The delegation included representatives of JATA, Hankyu Travel, Travel Plaza Japan, Foresight Marketing, and leading mass media such as Asahi-TV, Travel&Life, JIJI Press and Mainichi Shimbun.

Within the visit, the JATA deputy chairperson Jungo Kikuma held the meeting with the management of Uzbektourism.

During the talks, the sides discussed the possibility of expanding contacts between tourist companies, establishing tourist flows in both directions, as well as the implementing new projects and launching of the routes.

At the end of the negotiations, the sides agreed to sign the memorandum of further cooperation between Uzbektourism and the JATA.

The Japanese delegation familiarized with the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, measures on developing infrastructure and creating conditions for foreign tourists, cultural and historic sights of the country.

Within the visit, the Japanese delegation participated in the Uzbek-Japanese seminar to discuss issues of further developing cooperation in tourism sphere.

The Japanese side received information on work on developing tourism infrastructure and conducting work in this direction in Khorezm, Surkhandarya, Samarkand and Bukhara regions.

The delegation of Japan gave their recommendation on developing tourism potential of Uzbekistan via installation of ATMs at historic and tourism objects, simplifying visa regime, introducing marketing approaches to attract Japanese tourists via information offices and websites, etc.
