Uzbektourism hosts event on public-private partnership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbektourism national holding company hosted a chairperson of the company with the representatives of tour operators of Uzbekistan. The sides discussed actual issues of development of tourism, Uzbektourism said.

Tourism in Uzbekistan characterizes dynamic development, introduction of innovation and implementation of new projects, which requires close cooperation of tourism business and administration. In this tandem, tourism business determines aspects, requiring modernization, and administration creates conditions for improving tourism industry and informs about novelties.

The meeting became an example of the work of public and private sector directed at developing tourism sector in Uzbekistan. During the dialogue, the sides considered issues of improving service quality at airports, tourism objects, including museums, and creating effective system of serving tourists.

According to overall opinion, improvement of services at airports is important factor for increasing passenger turnover. The sides paid attention to improvement of work of Tashkent International Airport, including decreasing procedures at check-points and receiving luggage.

The sides proposed to improve services for people with disabilities and pensioners and organize tours for transit passengers and regulate issue of entering tourism buses to platforms. In the result of the meeting, the sides agreed to hold a meeting of tourism business with representatives of airports.

Optimization of work of tourism objects was also discussed at the meeting. According to the representatives of tourism enterprises, introduction of changes to work schedule of these objects, including museums, which do not work on Mondays, will create favourable conditions for work of tourism operators and will help to increase tourists inflow to Uzbekistan.

The participants also discussed Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism at Silk Road 2011”, which will be held in Tashkent on 2-4 November 2011. The sides noted that they should unite their forces to hold the event at high-level.

Such events between tour operators and management of tourism administration became tradition. Tour operators said that the meetings are effective to boost tourism in the country.
