Uzbektelecom cuts prices for Internet services for providers
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbektelecom joint stock company announced about decreasing tariffs for internet service (external channel) for providers up to US$632 per 1 Mpbs.

The company’s press service said that this is the fifth price cut for external Internet channel in 2011.

In early 2011, the cost of 1 Mbps was US$849. The operator decreased prices to US$755 per Mbps in February 2011, to US$705 per Mbps on 2 July and to US$688 per Mbps on 12 July. The company cut internet rates up to US$665 on 15 August.

The operator said that the service rates fell by 34.3% only in 2011.

Uzbektelecom joint stock company is largest telecommunication operator and covers all territory of Uzbekistan. The company renders such services as renting channels to operators and providers of fixed and mobile telephony, long distance calls, all types of voice services and data tramsger, Internet, video conference, etc.

The company renders services under three brands UZTELEСOM™, UZMOBILE™ and UZONLINE™. The company has 22 branches, including 14 regional, 8 specialized and three subsidiaries. The company has over 14,000 employees at the end of 2010.

Uzbektelecom possesses shares in eight joint ventures, which render mobile and fixed telephony, long distance calls, data transfer and Internet.
