Uzbektelecom cuts internet rates for ISPs
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Uzbektelecom joint stock company, a national telecommunication operator of Uzbekistan, cut rates for internet service (external channel) for internet service providers (ISPs) up to US$665 per 1 Mbps from 15 August 2011.
The operator recalled that this is the fourth price cut for external channel services in 2011 and the second in last month.
In early 2011, the cost of 1 Mbps was US$849. The operator decreased prices to US$755 per Mbps in February 2011, to US$705 per Mbps on 2 July and to US$688 per Mbps on 12 July.
The operator said that the service rates fell by 27.6% only in 2011.
