During the meeting, the Uzbek side acquainted the guests with the state of ICT in Uzbekistan. The parties discussed the issue of the attention of the republic’s leadership to development of the industry, especially in the regions of the country, the importance of public-private partnerships for development of competition in the field of ICT.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the issues of the Digital Central Asia-South Asia (Digital CASA) project. The Digital CASA project is aimed at creating a cross-border broadband telecommunications network, which will link the countries of Central and South Asia into a single information space. It is expected that this project will improve access to the Internet for landlocked countries.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the exchange of views for further development of mutually beneficial forms of cooperation.
