The document was signed by the chairman of the council of Uzbekneftegaz and Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Ergash Shaismatov, Vice President of Petronas Datuk Nasruddin and Sasol’s general manager Lean Strauss.
The event demonstrates positive results of the works, carried out within the agreement "On main principles on realization of the project on production of syntactic liquid fuel in Uzbekistan", which was signed in April 2009. The agreement was inked within the visit of Malaysia’s Petronas company, Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican, and the chief executive officer of South Africa’s Sasol Ltd, Pat Davies, to Uzbekistan.
GTL production process, which will be based on SASOL technology, will allow to produce about 1.3 million high liquid products, such as diesel fuel, kerosene, naphtha, butane-propane gas. The products will be realized in internal and external markets.
Partners plan to move to next stage of project realization, which include establishment of joint venture in near future.
