Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Recently, cyber scammers have come up with new and different ways to use the name Uzbekneftegaz to achieve their goals.

By posting non-existent government decrees on making money trading oil and gas on non-existent platforms, the articles on it promise people that they can participate in these projects and make huge profits.

The scammers use fake videos to prevent users from noticing the scam. Photos of famous artists are also published, calling for active participation in the project and false interviews about how they got rich on participation in the project and promotions.

These days, advertising information presented to users in the form of photos and text through the social network www.facebook.com reads: “In 2022, in order to provide state support to the population, invest 2 million soums in Uzbekneftegaz and receive dividends of 9 -16 million soums monthly” and links for registration are provided.

To convince users, the company logo, videos, state symbols and faces, as well as other information are shown. They are also asked to enter personal data and bank card data of a citizen.

There are signs of breach of trust, fraud and cybercrime using information technology, as well as cross-border transfer of personal data contrary to the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Personal Data".

In activities similar to the above, there are signs of a crime under articles 1412, 168, 1881 and 278 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in particular, illegal actions related to attracting funds and (or) other property of individuals and legal entities by taking over liability for the provision of property benefits, there are signs of cybercrime, such as advertising of this activity in order to attract participation in this activity, including advertising using the media or the global information network Internet, committing fraudulent crimes using information technology.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that Uzbekneftegaz today is becoming the most attractive tool for scammers. According to our observations, since the beginning of the year, dozens of fake ads have been made by fraudsters on behalf of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

The company urged to be careful when using any information posted on sites that are not information resources of Uzbekneftegaz, its subsidiaries and organizations.

In order to prevent violations of the rights of network users and become victims of Internet fraud using the name and logo of the management of Uzbekneftegaz, eliminate negative consequences, stop such phenomena and various threats as the loss of financial income of the population, in order to avoid loss of public confidence in the investment environment and activities of Uzbekneftegaz, an appeal was sent to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a request for practical assistance in eliminating the above situations as soon as possible and taking appropriate measures in relation to persons associated with them.
