Uzbekneftegaz: Uzbekistan did not transfer all its exclusive rights to gas and oil for a period of 35 years to Russian companies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- To date, Uzbekneftegaz operates 118 fields, of which natural gas is produced at 85 fields, and geological exploration is underway at the remaining 33 fields. The natural gas reserves of these fields make up 49% of the total gas reserves of the Republic, that is, about 1 trillion cubic meters. Only 1,450 wells are used for hydrocarbon production, and all of them belong to Uzbekneftegaz.

In recent years, in order to meet the needs of the population and sectors of the economy in natural gas in the Ustyurt, Bukhara-Khiva, Gissar and Fergana regions, Uzbekneftegaz has been conducting large-scale exploration work aimed at increasing reserves and discovering new deposits.

In order to carry out high-quality and prompt geological exploration for oil and gas, the Company, together with domestic and foreign enterprises with modern equipment, conducts a number of activities at great depths of the Ustyurt, Bukhara-Khiva regions.

Uzbekneftegaz presented 20 new sites prepared by the Ministry of Mining and Geology, where it is planned to drill new wells.

In 2020-2022, 4,000 sq. km of 3D exploration, 42 new fields were involved in drilling, 116 new wells were drilled, as a result of which, in addition to the discovery of 12 new natural gas fields, an increase in reserves of more than 90 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 3.8 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons was achieved.

In 2022, Uzbekneftegaz discovered new Yangi Olot, Yangi Tegirmon and Niyoz fields, currently the main exploration activities are aimed at the Tegirmon group of fields and the Niyoz gas condensate field. Two new wells are being drilled at each of the Yangi Olot and Niyoz fields.

As part of production activities in 2022, 32.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 100.2 thousand tons of oil and 1.43 million tons of gas condensate products were produced, 697,800 tons of liquefied natural gas were produced, and at gas processing plants through natural gas processing received 236,500 tons of sulfur, produced 127,400 tons of polyethylene.

As a result of processing oil products at the Bukhara Oil Refinery, about 1 million tons of gasoline, 331,000 tons of diesel fuel, 141,000 tons of jet fuel were produced. In addition, as a result of deep gas processing, 140,000 tons of diesel fuel were produced at the Uzbekistan GTL plant, equipped with high technology.

In order to develop geological and technical measures aimed at forming forecast indicators for the production of hydrocarbons from fields administered by Uzbekneftegaz in 2023, as well as monitoring the process of their implementation by Schlumberger, one of the leading companies in the world, in accordance with international standards, a macro-investment program of Uzbekneftegaz for 2023 was developed.

According to the program, drilling of 111 wells is envisaged, including 81 production wells, 30 exploration wells, overhaul of 56 wells, construction, modernization and reconstruction work at 25 technological facilities.

In addition, as a result of current repairs and intensification works at 552 wells, a reduction in the production of base natural gas by 990.7 million cubic meters will be prevented.

In order to ensure the stability of natural gas production, it is planned to build and launch a compressor station at the South Tandyrcha field, small compressor stations at the Shurtan, Girsan, Chulkuvar and Yangikazgan fields.

It is planned to overhaul 35 gas turbine engines at compressor stations, build gas pre-treatment units at the Shurtan, Tegirmon and Arslon fields, as well as to prevent gas compression in the fields and increase throughput, construction of 192 km of gas pipelines of various types.

In 2023, as part of exploration work, it is planned to drill an additional 50 wells in new areas, as well as conduct 3D seismic work on an area of 1.5 thousand square meters. km.

For this, 25 new sites prepared by the Ministry of Mining and Geology were presented, and licenses were issued for them. Currently, passports of sites for drilling new wells are being prepared.

Joint work will be carried out with the Schlumberger service company based on the results of studying the deep geological structure of the Sudochiy swamp, all geological, geophysical and other data obtained during well drilling, by re-attribute analysis of 3D seismic data of areas of the Ustyurt region with high prospects at depths of 4000- 6500 meters in new eXchroma technologies, as well as the prospects for oil and gas potential and hydrocarbon potential of new productive reservoirs identified on the basis of a regional area model and resource assessment.

As a result of the implementation of these measures, in 2023 it is planned to produce 32.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 61,000 tons of oil, 1.31 million tons of gas condensate, of which 672,100 tons of liquefied gas will be produced.
