The cost of the project, which was included into the investment programme of Uzbekistan for 2011, makes up almost US$1.003 billion.

Within the project, it is planned to develop five deposits in Gazli region. According to the programme, the project implementation will help to produce up to 5 billion cubic meters of gas a year.

The project will be financed due to own resources of Uzbekneftegaz for US$685.5 million, loan of Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan – US$159 million and foreign loans – US$158.4 million.

Gazli gas deposi is one of the largest in Bukhara-Khiva region and it has been exploited since 1961. The preliminary reserves of the deposit were about 500 billion cubic meters of gas. Currently, the reserves of the field are exhausted.
