The sides underlined that they pay strategic importance to bilateral cooperation in oil and gas industry. In particular, the joint work of Uzbekneftegaz and PetroVietnam is developing.

The side noted that development of relations have good potential. The evidence for that was signing of the memorandum of understanding between Uzbekneftegaz and Petrovietnam Exploration & Production (PVEP).

The document envisages carrying out exploration work at Bukhara-Khiva region in Uzbekistan to discover oil and gas reserves.
