Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekneftegaz plans to produce 26.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2025, according to a report by Oʻzbekiston 24 TV channel.
During a meeting held on 19 December with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was noted that projects involving foreign companies are being implemented to achieve this goal. These include drilling new wells and repairing existing operational wells using modern technologies.
The main issue facing the industry was the long-standing lack of attention to geological exploration. As a result, many fields are nearly depleted, and the efficiency of the remaining ones is low. To address this, modern technologies will be introduced, and geological surveys will begin on 15 promising sites, with the seismic survey area expanded to 6,500 square kilometers.
The president instructed the development of a program for geological development and exploration of new fields, involving large foreign companies and experts.
The transformation of Uzbekneftegaz continues, with key goals being to reduce production costs by 8% and improve the company’s international credit rating. In 2025, US$2 billion in foreign loans are planned to be attracted to finance geological exploration and production projects.
Special attention is being given to the training of qualified personnel. The president has instructed the improvement of training quality and the involvement of skilled Uzbek professionals working abroad.
