Uzbekistan’s Trade house and Cultural center opened in Karachi

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — With the support of the Uzbek Embassy and Diners Group, an official opening ceremony was held in Karachi for the Uzbek-Pakistani Trade House, UzbekPak International Trading Centre, and the UzbekPak Cultural Centre, according to Dunyo News Agency.

The event was attended by representatives of Karachi’s business community, executives of export-import companies, business leaders, and representatives of travel agencies.

Speaking at the event, Sohail Moten, the head of Diners Group, emphasized that the trade house and cultural center will play a key role in restoring regional connectivity between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, boosting mutual trade, and providing essential information to investors.

“The trade houses in Karachi and Tashkent will function as permanent exhibition pavilions, raising awareness about industrial products from both countries. We hope this will significantly increase the share of mutual products in the export and import structure of Pakistan and Uzbekistan,” Sohail Moten said.

In his address, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan highlighted the measures being taken by the leadership and government of the country to elevate bilateral relations to a new level, maintain the current momentum in trade and economic ties, improve them further, and promote cultural exchange.

“The trade house will bring our peoples and national economies closer together. It will serve as a foundation for effectively implementing high-level agreements, with the goal of diversifying our trade relations and increasing the trade turnover to US$1 billion,” the diplomat stated.

Shahzad Arshad, head of TechSol, who also participated in the event, shared his thoughts, noting that the trade house and cultural center will serve as a solid platform for deepening regional ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, paving the way for innovative solutions in trade, economy, and cultural cooperation.

The trade house features samples of Uzbekistan’s industrial products, including textiles, yarns, wool, leather, plastic granules, and dried fruits.

During the ceremony, large screens inside the building displayed videos showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, highlighting attractions in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Tashkent, as well as the country’s industrial and investment opportunities.
