Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Director of the Agency for Strategic Reforms (ASR), Bahodir Rakhmatov, met with the Head of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) mission, Annette Magnusson, and policy expert Dorike Overduin to review last year’s cooperation and outline further steps within ADB’s program aimed at strengthening regional trade agreements and international investment treaties.
A key focus of the discussions was the improvement of the legal framework and investment regulations, which play a vital role in attracting large-scale foreign investments and enhancing trade relations, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector.
ADB representatives proposed holding a five-day training seminar in Tashkent for officials from Uzbekistan’s ministries and agencies responsible for negotiating international trade and investment agreements.
Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing investment policies, improving professional expertise, and integrating international standards into trade and investment regulations.
