Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister meets with Afghan delegation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Afghanistan, led by Acting Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, is on a working visit to Uzbekistan from 22 to 23 February.

Today, on 22 February, bilateral talks were held in Tashkent between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, and Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that relations between the two nations and their peoples are based on the principles of friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual cooperation.

Particular attention was given to the consistent policy of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed at fostering constructive and mutually beneficial ties with Afghanistan across all key sectors.

In recent years, bilateral trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation has shown steady growth. Notably, the opening of the Termez International Trade Center last year has made a significant contribution to strengthening trade relations.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed in detail the prospects for further expanding their partnership, with a special focus on collaboration in trade, economy, energy, transport, and other areas.

The program of the Afghan delegation’s visit also includes visits to several industrial facilities in Tashkent.
