Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held between the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Council of Heads of Communications Administrations of the CIS Member States, Sherzod Shermatov, and the CEO of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC), Alexey Borodin.
The meeting focused on proposals related to digital development, strengthening the digital economy, developing communications infrastructure, implementing new technologies, and expanding cooperation in the IT sector.
Additionally, the parties exchanged views on the possibility of opening a branch of the RCC Executive Committee in Tashkent and discussed the development of new approaches to mutually beneficial and effective cooperation.
Special attention was given to the development and implementation of new communication standards. The prospects of hosting an international event on standardization in cooperation with the International Telecommunication Union in Uzbekistan were also discussed.
During the meeting, it was suggested that new approaches be developed to strengthen mutually beneficial and effective cooperation between RCC member states.
It was noted that the development of infrastructure projects, the organization of international events, and the demonstration of the country’s tourism potential are crucial to turning Uzbekistan into a hub for communications and digital technologies in the region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed confidence in taking strategic cooperation between the countries in the region to a new level.
